Dream Interpretation
I usually don’t remember many of my dreams and many of my dreams are too stupid to recall. For some reason last night I had a very real and intense dream. I don’t usually dream such vivid dreams, but last night seemed so real that I actually woke myself up. Here’s what happened..
I was with a large group of people walking through a forest and having a great time. It was a beautiful summer day and everyone was having a blast just being able to hang out. In just seconds a large, ferocious WOLF jumped from a hidden spot and began attacking one of our groups dogs. It was horrible. This dog was obviously not going to win against this WOLF. What happened next was so scary to me. I actually ran up to the wolf and began yelling at the top of my lungs to point where I was loosing my voice. For some reason, the WOLF got startled and let go of the dog, which allowed the dog to escape. At that moment all the people in our group ran as hard as they could away from the WOLF. At that moment I saw another horrible picture. The WOLF had now picked off and grabbed a little baby. Now, those of you that know about my family, know I have an almost 2 year old daughter, so what happened next could mean I thought it was her. So, seeing this WOLF grab a little baby really ticked me off! I had HAD enough! I found myself not running away from the WOLF but actually running toward the WOLF and jumping in the air to attack the WOLF. It was like a scene from the X-Men and I was Wolverine. Anyway, I jumped in the air and actually jumped ON the WOLF killing him by breaking his neck. Yes, the baby was safe. What woke me up was the actual sound of me growling out-loud to the point it woke me up.
So there it is. Pretty weird, HUH? I told Sally this morning and this is what she thinks. Our church is growing and we have seen some WOLVES show up trying to pick off our sheep. In this dream I am the shepherd trying to protect my sheep. That’s pretty smart if you ask me. You see, I love our church and I love our people. I would do anything to protect them even to the point of putting me in harms way. I do not like it when I see WOLVES come through our doors and try to pick off and kill our sheep. This weekend I’m going to be praying for all of our sheep to be protected from the real Shepherd!
Here’s some Truth to meditate on this weekend.
John 10 The Shepherd and His Flock
1″I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. 3The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.
7Therefore Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11″I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14″I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
