Why I Tithe – Pt. 2

19 October 2009 228 views No Comment

openbibleI can probably answer the question of why I tithe with 1 word…STUDENTS! Yep, STUDENTS…Elementary, Middle School & High School STUDENTS! When I went to church I was drug to church and I hated it because it was boring. In my Sunday School Class there was a little old lady sitting in a rocking chair teaching about Jesus on a flipping felt board. It seemed like the same lady with the same felt board followed me up through elementary school teaching me the same boring story each and every week through the years. I desire the very best church experience for every student that attends RiverPoint Church.

I pray that RiverPoint Church will continue to do whatever it takes to REACH kids and teens and teach them about following JESUS in an exciting way. We spend tons of money, and I pray we will be able to spend tons more, on our RiverPoint Kids & RiverPoint Students! Why do we spend a ton on kids? Because our students are the church of today! We desire for every student that walks through our doors to fall in love with Jesus and His church and go outside of our church walls to reach the lost world with passion!

The money we’ve alloted for in our kids and student areas goes for salaries, curriculum, Bibles, props, prizes, lights, computers, software, big screens, Nintendo wii’s, gates, diapers, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, food, drinks, events and everything else we spend money on for our them is making a huge difference. A large percentage of people we baptized this year were children. Statistically most people make decisions for Christ before they are 18. I want every student to know Jesus and stay connected to Him and his church forever. I don’t want them to get bored and run from the church like I did. I want to lead the way in generosity at RiverPoint Church and encourage every attender to make an eternal investment in the lives of hundred’s and thousands of students for years to come! Your tithes and offerings are making a difference in lives.

That’s why I tithe.

Do you?
