What Do You Ask Of Your Church Partners?

When you partner with RiverPoint Church, there are 5 things that we ask you to say yes to:
1. Spend Daily Time With God - Have a regular daily devotional with God by reading His Word and praying. If this is new for some people, we will teach them and equip them how to begin.
2. Invest & Invite - As long as you’re a partner, we ask you to invest with people that you’re praying for, seeking to share your life change story to and seeking to invite them to church with you.

A Marriage Moment by Sally Martin

I have done a TON of weddings lately for people at RiverPoint! In light of all the weddings and pre-marital counseling seasons I’ve done, I want to share with all the married couples out there a great post by my wife. She is SO SMART and I love her SO MUCH! If you’re married, I hope you will read this and let it speak to you.
Please don’t wait until it’s too late to get marital counseling! Most couples, especially men, think that counseling is only for those contemplating divorce. It’s not, …

Biblical Solutions For Ministering To Difficult People

I found this on Lifeway.com and it is a great help in dealing with difficult people in your church.  (Your church does have at least one difficult person, right?!)
Can you identify any of these folk in your church?
Brooks Faulkner, Pastoral Ministry Specialist, at LifeWay Christian Resources, identifies nine types of difficult people and the usual effect they have on people.

The star performer is entitled to your preferential treatment.

This Week In Quotes By Jonathan Edwards

This past week I attended the Desiring God Conference for Pastors in Minn. I was blown away by everything I experienced. I’d like to share with you some selected quotes by Jonathan Edwards that have stirred my soul and recap this week.

Grace is but glory begun, and glory is but grace perfected.
I assert that nothing ever comes to pass without a cause.
Prayer is as natural an expression of faith as breathing is of life.
Resolution One: I will live for God. Resolution Two: If no one else does, I …

Dream Interpretation

I usually don’t remember many of my dreams and many of my dreams are too stupid to recall. For some reason last night I had a very real and intense dream. I don’t usually dream such vivid dreams, but last night seemed so real that I actually woke myself up. Here’s what happened..
I was with a large group of people walking through a forest and having a great time. It was a beautiful summer day and everyone was having a blast just being able to hang out. In just seconds …

Praying For Unity

One of the dreadful consequences of division is lack of successful evangelism. Division depletes and diminishes our ability to reach those far from God. In Jesus’ prayer for unity, he asks:
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:20-21)
Unity enhances and extends our influence to …

I didn’t see the game last night because I was flying home from Minnesota. However, I did get to check out the highlights when I got home and this video was the best part of the game in my opinion.
No matter what God does, ALWAYS give Him the Glory because He is in control and His plans are better than ours.

A Lifestyle Of Generosity

2 Corinthians 8:1-7
1And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the …
