Every Sunday our entire Leadership Community meet together for our Team Huddle. This is usually 30 minutes before each service begins. The huddle usually takes about 10 minutes, and they are a valuable time for leaders to connect with each other before we get to our environments to connect with our attenders. We adapted the format of these meetings from LifeChurch.tv. Every huddle meeting contains the following:
Vision – We remind people that their volunteer team helps advance the vision of RiverPoint Church. We also talk about LIFEChange stories that happened …

As you could tell from my earlier post, I’m not an eloquent writer. I’ve always wanted to be, but I just write what is on my mind. So, here’s another installment of what I’ve learned over the years and now I want to share it with the new up-and-coming pastors out there. This one goes out to all the Worship Pastors. Why would I write to Worship Pastors? Because I was one for 10 years. So here’s a few things every Worship Pastor needs to know when serving in a …

I love how God’s Word speaks to me no matter where in the Bible I’m reading and no matter what I’m going through.
The other night in LIFEGroup while the others were praying, I couldn’t get engaged and concentrate enough to pray because God was telling me to READ His Word! I opened up the daily reading plan on my BlackBerry that YouVersion had, and I started reading James 5! This was exactly what I needed to hear with what God is taking me through right now. Now, you might read …

Great question. Here is our response…
We are providing an environment for kids called “ALL-STAR KIDS” where they can go and chill out with their friends after/before their worship experience while you are serving or worshiping! This will be a controlled and adult supervised place where they will get the red carpet treatment because YOU serve at RPC! We will provide movies, games, snacks, crafts, etc. We …

One area I’ve been working on lately is how to raise my level of leadership. Wherever I’m at, if I want to raise my level of leadership I need to surround myself with leaders that are at a much higher level and learn from them. I can’t grow as a leader unless I learn from other godly, seasoned leaders that are at a much higher level. Here’s a few things I’m doing and encouraging my staff to do to raise our leadership level.
Read & Study the Bible daily. Crave to …

Tonight was a great night for me and my family, our lead team and many of the people that attend RiverPoint Church! Several months ago our lead team began praying about where God might be moving us and He placed us in a great location that has been our home since June. I believe where we are right now is exactly where God wants us, but there has been this other location that has always kept coming back to us. We’ve continued to pray, discuss and dream if this might …
